About

My name is Justen Deal.

I was…

A “[guy] with sandy blonde hair” in March of 2001.
A “blonde kid from south of Charleston, W. Va.” in June of 2001.
A “soft-spoken [guy] from West Virginia” in July of 2002.
An “opinionated twentysomething health care worker from Los Angeles” in February of 2005.
And a “well−dressed young man who constantly sweeps his sandy hair across his forehead, [who] has been known to go against the grain” in April 2007.

According, at least, to Todd C. Frankel of the Charleston Daily Mail, Laura Sessions Stepp of the Washington Post, Kaisa Walker of The Link, the student newspaper of the Université Concordia in Montréal, Québec, Sam Diaz of the San Jose Mercury News, and Rhonda Rundle of the Wall Street Journal.

I have worked in healthcare, information technology, higher education, and telecommunications. I like to build smart intersections between business processes, information technology, internal support, and external communications. Ask me about it sometime…

I spend quite a bit of time in Los Angeles, California, but I live in Montréal, Québec and at Snowshoe, West Virginia (depending on what day of the week we’re talking about). I grew up near Madison, West Virginia which is about thirty minutes south of Charleston.

My undergraduate education was a journey, and included stints at Marshall University (in Huntington, West Virginia), Concordia University (in Montréal, Québec), and Mount St. Mary’s College (in Los Angeles, California).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
