I believe in music therapy, too. For that reason, this post will be corporate intrigue free.
Kelly Clarkson has a new album, called My December, which is slated to be released on June 26. You should listen to Sober, the new single. I’ve had a chance to listen to quite a bit of the album, and while I worry about how it will fair commercially, I think it is artistically (and musically) beautiful.
One of my favorite albums is Nelly Furtado’s sophomore record, Folklore. While it wasn’t that great of a success by the number of discs sold, it garnered strong critical review, and I think it will withstand the test of time a tad bit better than Loose.
I hope My December is a huge hit. It deserves to be. But even if it only sells a hundred thousand, or a million, or six million copies, it is one of the best records in quite some time. Musically captivating, lyrically engaging, and vocally stunning…
And for those reasons, you better buy it!
